UP Heavyweights Pramod Tiwari And PL Punia Dropped From Revamped Congress Working Committee
Lucknow, August 21 (TNA) As the Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge rejigged the Congress Working Committee (CWC) many veterans from Uttar Pradesh have been shown the door. These include Rajya Sabha member Pramod Tiwari, PL Punia - the bureaucrat-turned-Dalit face of the party and Ajay Kumar ‘Lallu’ former president of the state unit.
However, Rahul Gandhi, former Lok Sabha MP from Amethi, Rae Bareli MP Sonia Gandhi and her daughter Priyanka Gandhi Vadra who was in-charge of the party in Uttar Pradesh have been included in the revamped CWC. Former PM Manmohan Singh and Shashi Tharoor along with former union minister Salman Khursheed have also been named in the new CWC.
The vocal party spokesperson Supriya Shrinate has also got the opportunity as a special invitee. There are about 1256 Provincial Congress Committee (PCC) active members of the Congress.
