UP Cop Suspended, Booked After Rape Victim Accuses Him Of Raping Her When She Went To Him With Complaint

Lucknow, May 4 (TNA) A station-house officer (SHO) has been suspended and booked in Lalitpur after a rape victim alleged that the cop had raped her when she went to him with complaint against four who had sexually assaulted her earlier.

When the victim narrated the ordeal to the SP, he ordered the accused inspector to present the line and register a case. The accused inspector has absconded and has been suspended. One accused has been arrested.

Lalitpur Superintendent of Police, Nikhil Pathak said that a teenager came to the office and told that four named accused had lured her away and they raped her. When she reached the police station, the SHO also raped her.

Taking the minor's allegations seriously, reaching the police station Pali, the SP inquired about the incident. After this, Child Welfare Officer and Circle Officer Madavara Keshav Nath took the victim's statement in the 181 helpline unit, where the victim girl wept while narrating her ordeal.

The SP, with immediate effect, put Tilakdhari Saroj, Inspector-in-Charge of Pali, on the line and asked to register a case against the six named accused.
