UP Police Sub-inspector Electrocuted In Etawah, Dies

Etawah, July 7 (TNA) A sub-inspector of the Uttar Pradesh Police died of electrocution on Friday. The incident took place when the deceased - Vijay Singh (54) was going out of his room towards the toilet. Due to rains the earth outside was slippery and he tripped.

In a bid to prevent the fall, he tried to hold on to the nearby cooler. There was current in it and he was electrocuted.

He was rushed to a nearby medical facility where he was pronounced dead by the doctors. His family has been informed. He had been promoted from head constable to the post of sub-inspector only a month back. He hailed from Kanpur and was posted in Kareen police station.
