UP Shivers As Cold Wave Continues, No Respite Till January 29

Lucknow, January 27 (TNA) Intense cold wave continued in most parts of Saturday as people woke up to dense fog on the weekend. Many districts reported fog since Friday night. Cold winds continued to lower the temperature further. On Friday, the mercury dropped by three degrees in Kanpur and Sonbhadra, which was the lowest in the state.

Earlier on Friday also, apart from Central UP, dense fog was reported in Eastern Uttar Pradesh. Visibility in Lucknow and its surrounding districts ranged from 50 meters to 200 meters. According to the forecast of the Meteorological Department, the cold will continue to trouble for the next two days. There is a possibility of some change in the weather from Tuesday.

The maximum and minimum temperatures in Lucknow on Friday were around 17 degrees Celsius and 5 degrees Celsius respectively. The maximum temperature may remain the same on Saturday also. There is no possibility of sunshine right now.

An Orange alert has been sounded by the IMD in Muzaffarnagar, Baghpat, Agra, Etah, Bijnor, Aligarh, Firozabad, Mainpuri, Bahraich, Shravasti, Siddharth Nagar, Ayodhya, Ambedkar Nagar, Saharanpur, Mathura, Meerut, Ghaziabad, Bulandshahr, Sultanpur, Amethi, Gautam Buddha Nagar.
