UP Shivers As Cold Wave Intensifies Further, Kanpur Logs 3 Degrees Celsius And Agra 3.9

Lucknow, January 13 (TNA) The entire state of Uttar Pradesh is in the grip of an intense cold wave. Kanpur remained the coldest district in the state in the past 24-hours. The Meteorological Department has released the list of districts where the temperature may fall further in the coming days.

The cold westerly winds have added to the chill. The fog is becoming increasingly dense and cold day conditions continue to persist in many areas. Kanpur and Agra remained in the grip of cold wave. Kanpur was the coldest in the state with a minimum temperature of three degrees. Agra stood second in cold with a temperature of 3.9 degrees.

The minimum temperature in the entire state remained below 10 degrees and a decrease of two to three degrees was recorded. The conditions in Lucknow remained the same as on Thursday and the minimum temperature dropped to 6 degrees Celsius instead of 6.5 degrees. According to meteorologists, cold wave like conditions have actually just started.

According to Atul Kumar Singh, senior meteorologist of the Zonal Meteorological Center, western disturbance remains active. Westerly winds are increasing the cold. Similar conditions are expected to remain the same for the next two days. The bone shivering dry cold will continue to trouble, during this period the scope of dense fog, cold wave and cold days is likely to increase to reach many other areas of the state.

Senior meteorologist of Zonal Meteorological Center Mohd Danish says that in the coming days, more impact of cold will be seen in Kanpur Dehat, Kanpur Nagar, Saharanpur, Shamli, Muzaffarnagar, Meerut, Aligarh, Mathura, Hathras, Agra, Firozabad, Mainpuri, Etawah, Auraiya, Bijnor, Amroha, Moradabad, Rampur, Bareilly, Shahjahanpur, Basti, Siddharthnagar, Gonda, Balrampur, Shravasti, Hardoi, Farrukhabad, Kannauj, Rampur, Moradabad, Mainpuri Prayagraj, Fatehpur, Pratapgarh, Varanasi, Sant Ravidasnagar, Jaunpur, Ghazipur, Sultanpur, Aligarh, Mathura, Hathras, Rae Bareli and surrounding areas.

The day temperature was below normal in Gorakhpur, Prayagraj, Muzaffarnagar, Moradabad, Varanasi, Bahraich, Fursatganj, Basti, and Shahjahanpur.
