UP STF Busts Gang Supplying Drugs To Bars, Pubs And Hotels, Three Arrested

Lucknow, February 16 (TNA) Sleuths of the Special Task Force (STF) of the UP Police arrested the gang leader and two members near Dayal Paradise Hotel in Gomtinagar on Thursday evening when they were going to supply drugs. 66 grams of MDMA drug and 500 grams of hashish, worth around Rs 40 lakh, have been recovered from them.

Based on concrete information, the team of STF Deputy SP DK Shahi arrested Ehsan Afzal Khan alias Raja, a resident of Indiranagar, Deepak Kumar Gupta, a resident of Chinhat and Karan Mehta, a resident of Alambagh. A Swift car and four mobile phones have also been recovered from them. In fact, for the past several days, STF was getting information about the gang being active in the bars, pubs and hotels of the capital and supplying drugs.

STF came to know that the leader of this gang, Ehsan Afzal Khan along with his associates Karan Mehta and Deepak Gupta was going to supply drugs at the Dayal Paradise intersection. After which all three were caught. During interrogation, he confessed that he used to smuggle drugs from Delhi which were delivered to big hotels, pubs and bars through Deepak Gupta and other gang members.

According to STF, gang leader Ehsan Afzal Khan has been involved in drug smuggling and immoral prostitution in the past. Because of this, he has also gone to jail. There are six cases registered against him. STF has lodged all three at Gomtinagar police station.
