UP’s "Biggest Ever" Budget To Be Presented Today In The State Assembly
Lucknow, February 5 (TNA) Uttar Pradesh's biggest budget is to be presented in the state assembly on Monday. According to sources the focus of finance minister Suresh Khanna, as he presents the budget, would be on artificial intelligence, solar energy, religious tourism, agriculture, industry and MSME.
Finance Minister Khanna finalized the budget at his office on Sunday by signing it. Its size is expected to be more than Rs 7.5 lakh crore. This would be the third general budget of the second term of the state's Yogi Adityanath’s government. Khanna will present the budget at 11 am.
Since it is an election year, it is being speculated that in this budget an attempt will be made to give gifts to the people of the state. After the budget, discussion on the motion of thanks on the Governor's address will begin. The Governor's address will be discussed on 6th and 7th February. On February 8, there will be a general discussion on the income and expenditure for the financial year 2024-25.
On the 10th and 12th of February, the demands for grants will be considered along with a discussion on income and expenditure. There will be voting on the budget proposal. On February 12, at 3 pm, the Uttar Pradesh Appropriation Bill 2024 will be reintroduced in the House and passed.
The Finance Minister said that this all-inclusive, all-touching budget is based on the Prime Minister's resolve to make India a developed nation by the year 2047. The budget will become a strong pillar of making the state a 10 trillion dollar economy. Along with the overall development of the state, it is dedicated to rebuilding the infrastructure and bringing the poor, deprived, youth, women and farmers into the mainstream of development along with leading a dignified life. The country's economy is continuously strengthening under the financial discipline and guidance of the Chief Minister.
The Finance Minister said that this budget is a document following all modern parameters. All such arrangements have been ensured in this budget of the state so that all citizens will be able to contribute fully to the development of the state. We will contribute to the development of the state by standing shoulder to shoulder and with the mutual brotherhood without any discrimination.
Suresh Khanna also said that in the interim budget 2024-25 presented in Parliament on February 1, UP is estimated to get Rs 2,18,816 crore as the state's share in central taxes. Special attention has been given to the poor, women, youth and farmers in the Union Budget.
