The negligence of drivers, conductors and officers in giving information about roadways bus accidents on the accident reporting system has been exposed. While the drivers and conductors are slow in giving information, the officers do not go to the spot. This is the reason why interceptor vehicles are not able to reach for help in case of an accident.
A review meeting regarding roadway bus accidents was held on Thursday at the Transport Corporation headquarters through video conferencing. It was said that action would be taken if the accident reporting system is not updated in case of an accident. At the same time, the Principal Manager will have to reach the spot immediately after the bus accident and upload the photo of the accident on the system group.
Immediate information is not being given in case of a bus accident. Principal Manager Personnel Ashok Kumar has expressed his displeasure over the accident to the regional managers through video conferencing. He said that in case of an accident, the first responsibility will be on the driver and conductor.
They will inform the assistant regional manager, centre in-charge and timekeeper of their depot. If they do not, RM and ARM will take disciplinary action against them and officers who do not reach the accident site will also be punished.
