Uttar Pradesh Feels The Winter Chill, Bareilly Records Lowest Temperature With 7.8 Degrees Celsius
Lucknow, December 10 (TNA) Icy winds blowing in many aprts of the state, including the state capital Lucknow, have finally heralded the onset of winter chill in Uttar Pradesh. And so despite bright sun in the city, people preferred to remain indoors on Sunday as mercury dropped in most parts of the state. According to the weatherman, the minimum temperature recorded was 7.8 degrees celsius in Bareilly.
Meerut, in western UP also recorded a low of 9.8 degrees celsius, followed by 12 degrees in Kanpur, 12.5 in Ayodhya and 12.8 degrees celsius in Lucknow. Agra recorded 13 degrees celsius while Varanasi recorded a low of 14.5 degrees celsius and Prayagraj a low if 15 degrees celsius. Fog has also descended on most highways and outskirts, throwing rail and vehicular traffic out of gear.
In the past 24-hours, 17 trains running through Kanpur Central Station were delayed for seven hours. More than 800 tickets were cancelled. According to Dr. SN Sunil Pandey, meteorologist of CSA University, the cold will now start increasing rapidly.
