Uttar Pradesh Government Bans Crackers In 13 Districts

Lucknow, Nov 10 || The already subdued mood for the forthcoming festival of Diwali was jolted by the state government on Tuesday as it announced a ban on sale and bursting of crackers in 13 districts of Uttar Pradesh.

According to an official, the state's home department has ordered a ban on sale and bursting of crackers in the state capital Lucknow and Kanpur, along with eleven other districts.

These districts include Noida, Greater Noida, Hapur, Ghaziabad, Agra, Meerut, Bulandshahr, Baghpat, Moradabad, Varanasi and Muzaffarnagar.

Officials say the move was necessitated due to the poor air quality owing to the rising pollution. The markets and zeal as is it are on a low note because of the ongoing Coronavirus pandemic.
