Varanasi, November 8 (TNA) A court has issued a notice to senior Samajwadi Party (SP) leader Swami Prasad Maurya on his controversial comment on Ramcharitmanas. The enxt hearing has been scheduled for December 11. The monitoring petition filed against Maurya in the case of objectionable remarks on the Hindu religious text Ramcharitmanas was approved by the District Judge's court.

In the monitoring petition filed by advocate Ashok Kumar, it was said that the faith of many Hindus in the country and abroad has been hurt by the absurd remarks made by the SP leader. By acting in this way, MLC Swami Prasad Maurya has tried to increase anarchy by spreading religious fanaticism in the society by creating caste, religion, discrimination among the people and spoiling mutual harmony, the petitioner has said,

In-charge District Judge Subhash Chandra Tiwari, while approving the monitoring petition for hearing, fixed December 11 as the next date of hearing and passed an order to issue notice to Samajwadi Party MLC Maurya.
