Varanasi Gets Top Award In India Smart City Contest, Wins In Four Categories

Varanasi, April 20 (TNA) Varanasi Smart City has received the first prize for the year 2020-21 for COVID-19 management. Varanasi has been awarded in total four categories including Smart City Leadership. The holy city has won the India Smart City Award contest in the year 2020-21.

This also includes the Covid Innovation Award by the Kashi Integrated Command and Control Center for its efficient management and best performance during the COVID-19 pandemic. During the Covid-19 epidemic and strict lockdown, Kashi Integrated Command and Control Center functioned as an integrated war room for the city of Varanasi.

The this, district administration, emergency services, health department, telemedicine, municipal corporation related facilities, food supply, etc. were combined, as well as tracking of infected by Geographical Information System (GIS), cluster mapping etc.

Apart from this, the work of sanitization of containment zones and drug delivery, safe Kashi app, city surveillance, hospital monitoring etc. by Varanasi Smart City was also done by Kashi Integrated Command and Control Center under Varanasi Smart City.
