Varanasi Jan Aushadhi Kendra Of Divisional Hospital Raided, Branded Medicines Seized

Varanasi, June 2 (TNA) Branded medicines are being sold indiscriminately in place of generic medicines in the public medicine centers opened in government hospitals. This came to light when Drug Inspector Amit Bansal raided the Jan Aushadhi Kendra of Kabirchaura's Divisional Hospital in Varanasi on Thursday. A large number of branded medicines were seized here instead of generic medicines.

It contained antibiotic, multi vitamin, calcium, liver tonic etc. Drug Inspector seized the branded medicines and a report will be sent to Assistant Commissioner Drugs, it was informed.

In the matter, Dr. SP Singh, Chief Superintendent of the Divisional Hospital, said that reports are taken from time to time regarding the Jan Aushadhi Kendra running in the hospital premises. Selling branded drugs is serious. Strict action will be taken as per the rules.
