Veteran SP Leader, MLC And Yadav Clan Confidante SRS Yadav Dies Of COVID
LUCKNOW || Veteran Samajwadi Party (SP) leader SRS Yadav died of Coronavirus infection on Tuesday, officials said. He was admitted at the SGPGI for the past few days after contracting the deadly virus. He was a member of the Legislative Council and was one of the closest to the party founder Mulayam Singh Yadav.
Humble and a quiet person, he had endeared himself to the Yadav clan with his loyalty and work culture and Mulayam made him his officer on special duty (OSD) when he first came to power in 1989. He earlier worked in the Cooperative Bank. He was also close to SP chief Akhilesh Yadav despite the huge generational gap.
Popularly known as 'Babu ji' amid party workers, the SP paid rich tributes to the late leader and said his passing away was "end of an era".
