Voting For 10 Rajya Seats Of Uttar Pradesh To Begin Shortly, Tight Contest Between BJP-SP
Lucknow, February 27 (TNA) Voting for the ten Rajya Sabha seats will be held from 9 am to 4 pm in Tilak Hall of Vidhan Bhavan today. Three booths have been made for voting. There will be a contest between eight candidates of BJP and three candidates of SP. BJP has given its full push to win the eighth seat and SP to win the third seat.
Voters will enter from gate number seven of the secretariat. After getting the voter slip from room number 80 of Vidhan Bhavan, they will go to Tilak Hall for voting. Voting will be done on the ballot paper in Tilak Hall with the special pen of the Election Commission and counting of votes will start from 5 pm.
Sudhanshu Trivedi, RPN Singh, Amarpal Maurya, Naveen Jain, Tejveer Singh, Sanjay Seth, Sadhna Singh and Sangeeta Balwant Bind are candidates from BJP. Whereas SP has fielded Jaya Bachchan, Ramjilal Suman and former UP chief secretary Alok Ranjan.
For the Rajya Sabha elections, BJP has the votes of a total of 287 MLAs from parties supported along with NDA constituents. Whereas in the current situation, the party needs 296 votes to win eight seats. In such a situation, the party needs 9 additional votes.
SP needs 111 votes to win three seats. Whereas SP has only 108 votes including two Congress MLAs. In such a situation, SP needs three additional votes to win the third seat. According to sources, both parties have made every possible effort to infiltrate each other's camp.
