Voting In The Last Phase Of UP Assembly Elections Begins In 54 seats
Lucknow, March 7 (TNA) Voting for the final phase of assembly elections in Uttar Pradesh began across nine districts on 54 seats on Monday. The Chakia assembly of Chandauli, Robertsganj of Sonbhadra and Dudghi assembly being Naxal-affected areas will vote between 7 am to 4 pm. The remaining 51 seats will go to polls till 6 pm.
Fate of prominent leaders include ministers Anil Rajbhar, Ravindra Jaiswal, Neelkanth Tiwari, Girish Yadav, Ramashankar Patel, Sangeeta Balwant, former minister Durga Prasad Yadav, Om Prakash Singh, Kailash Chaurasia, Shailendra Yadav Lalai, Jagdish Narayan Rai, Surendra Patel will be decided in this round of balloting.
2.06 crore voters will be able to exercise their franchise in this phase. There are 1.09 crore male voters and 97.08 lakh female voters. The fate of 613 candidates will be decided in this phase. It includes 75 women candidates.
In the last phase, more than half of the assembly seats have been kept in the sensitive category. These include Machhlishahr, Mungarabadshahpur, Badlapur, Jaunpur Sadar, Zafarabad, Mohammadabad, Jamnian, Saidpur, Zahurabad, Saidraja, Chakia, Azamgarh, Phulpur Powai, Didarganj, Mau Sadar, Gyanpur, Ajra, Shivpur, Varanasi North, Varanasi South and Varanasi Cantt seats.
