Varanasi, August 4 (TNA) In view of the ASI survey in Gyanvapi that began on Friday after the decks were cleared for it by the Allahabad High Court, the police has banned entry of devotees and other persons with mobile phones in Shri Kashi Vishwanath Dham from Friday till August 7.

Deputy Commissioner of Police (Security) Suryakant Tripathi has said that devotees should leave their mobile phones at home. The Gyanvapi campus is adjacent to the Vishwanath temple itself and keeping in mind the sensitivity of the matter, the police have restricted the use of mobile phones.

Police say that any photo or video of the survey might create problems and disturb social and communal harmony.
