Woman Lekhpal Arrested Taking Bribe In Kanpur
Kanpur, Oct 4 (TNA) A woman revenue officer (Lekhpal) was on Tuesday arrested for taking bribe in Ghatampur as Rs four thousand were taken in the name of division of land. The photo copy shop owner turned out to be the collection agent of the officer.
Kanpur's anti-corruption team arrested Ghatampur's revenue officer Anjali Yadav while taking a bribe of Rs 4,000. She used to take bribe with the help of a photo copy shopkeeper. The anti-corruption team has also detained the photo copy shop operator as well.
Both of them were interrogated at Hanumant Vihar police station and an FIR was registered under the Prevention of Corruption Act and they were later arrested. Anti-corruption team in-charge JS Singh said that accountant Anjali Yadav is posted in Ghatampur tehsil. There is a dispute going on regarding the share between three brothers of Rajesh Sahu, resident of Makrandpur Majra, Ghana Matirampur of Ghatampur.
Rajesh had filed a case for division of his ancestral property in the SDM court. Partition was not possible without the accountant's report. Lekhpal Anjali Yadav had asked for Rs 7,000 to mark the property distribution of the three brothers. In this, 4 thousand rupees were bought by Bara Daulatpur Seema photo copy shop operator Shivraj Singh of Ghatampur. The bribe money from Lekhpal Madam's deal was deposited at Shivraj's shop only.
