“Y Category” Security Cover Of Mohd Azam Khan Withdrawn By The State

Rampur, July 14 (TNA) In another blow to former UP minister and senior Samajwadi Party (SP) leader Mohd Azam Khan, the state government has withdrawn his “Y” category security cover. This was done as per the decision of the State Level Security Committee, which reviews security of dignitaries from time to time.

SP Ashok Kumar Shukla confirmed the development. Security personnel deployed in his security detail have since reported back to the Police Lines after demitting their duty. In the last meeting of the committee it was udnerlines that there was no justification for Azam Khan to retain “Y category” security anymore.

SP (Training and Security) Vaibhav Krishna informed the SP of Rampur about the decision of the committee meeting. After which the security of Azam Khan was withdrawn on Thursday. The SP told that now Azam Khan and any member of his family have no security. Khan had two personal security officers (PSO) and a dozen policemen guarding him 24x7 so far. Not any longer.
