Yogi Adityanath Calls for End to Tax Evasion, Promotes Use of New Technology

Lucknow, October 19 (TNA) Uttar Pradesh chief minister Yogi Adityanath has asked officials to ensure an end to tax evasion as also generate new sources of revenue generation by use of new technologies.

The Chief Minister said so while reviewing the non-tax revenue receipts in the current financial year in a high-level meeting at his official residence late on Wednesday evening.

Suggesting the use of technology to increase the revenue of the state, he expressed satisfaction over the revenue collection of more than Rs 92 thousand crore in the first two quarters of the financial year 2023-24. He directed to make every possible effort to achieve the target of revenue collection of Rs 2.62 lakh crore by March 31, 2024.

The Chief Minister said in the meeting that so far this year, it has earned Rs 52 thousand crore from GST and VAT, Rs 20 thousand crore from Excise, Rs 13 thousand crore from Stamp and Registration and more than Rs 4700 crore from transport.

CM said that every department has collected good revenue in the first two quarters of the last financial year 2022-23. He said that construction activities are increasing in the state and the state should benefit from it.
