Yogi Adityanath Launches 'Vindhya Black Rice' Produced In Mirzapur
Lucknow, March 15 (TNA) Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Sunday launched the Black Rice produced by farmers and farmers producer organizations in association with Agriculture Department in the name of 'Vindhya Black Rice' at the Ashtabhuja Inspection House in Mirzapur.
On this occasion, the District Magistrate informed the Chief Minister about the Black Rice and said that out of the many varieties of rice, it is one type of black rice. It has many medicinal properties and nutritional elements. He said that black rice is normally sold anywhere between Rs 200 to 500 per kg.
It is being cultivated in eight development blocks of Mirzapur district - Narayanpur, Jamalpur, Chanbe, Rajgarh, Pahari, Lalganj, City and Halia. The District Magistrate said that eating black rice protects against cancer, as it has antioxidant properties. This rice is also beneficial for diabetes.
This black rice also acts to reduce the level of glucose in the blood. Additionally, it is also beneficial for asthma, blood pressure. Zinc, phosphorus, iron, protein, fiber, carbohydrate are found in abundance in this rice.
Black rice can be consumed in the usual way like white rice. It can be consumed with any vegetable or curry. Apart from this, it can also be consumed in the form of salad or soup. Chief Development Officer, Avinash Singh presented a dragon fruit to the Chief Minister and informed him about its characteristics.
