Yogi Gives Free Hand To Police, 136 Arrested In UP For Violence After Friday Prayers

Lucknow, June 11 (TNA) The UP Police has so far arrested 136 persons from various districts of the state for their involvement in violence after Friday prayers. Just a week after the violence on June 3 in Kanpur, there was a ruckus in 8 districts of UP. After Friday prayers, the crowd took to the road, pelted stones at the cops, vandalised property and at some places set vehicles on fire.

UP chief minister Yogi Adityanath took stock of the situation late Friday and gave a free hand to the police in maintaining law and order. He also asjed the police to hound out those responsbile for the violence and bring them to justice.

An official informed TNA that while arrests were being made on basis of identification throiugh CCTV and other footages, no one will be spared.

In Prayagraj, Moradabad, Saharanpur, Firozabad, Ambedkar Nagar, Hathras, Aligarh, Jalaun, the Mualim worshipers had come out on the road in large numbers and at some places indulged in violence.

Most of the ruckus happened in Prayagraj. Therehave been 45 arrests in Saharanpur, 37 in Prayagraj, 20 in Hathras, 7 in Moradabad, 4 in Firozabad, 23 in Ambedkar Nagar.
