Yogi Government To Prepare Sports Infrastructure In Government Colleges With Rs 1.71 Crore

Lucknow, February 28 (TNA) Under the Major Dhyan Chand Mission, players will be encouraged by creating sports infrastructure in government colleges. Efforts are being made to create sports infrastructure in a total of 171 government colleges. Each college will get one lakh rupees, an official informed.

The Yogi government, which is promoting sports at the grassroots level in Uttar Pradesh, has now started preparing sports infrastructure in colleges and preparing players there too. For this, the government has sanctioned an amount of Rs 1.71 crore for sports infrastructure in government colleges under the Major Dhyan Chand Mission.

It will be mandatory to pay this amount by March 31, 2024. With this amount, various construction works related to sports will be done, so that the players coming to college do not have to wander elsewhere for training and preparations for various competitions.

Higher Education Minister Yogendra Upadhyay in the state government said that as per the intention of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, there is a plan to prepare players in government colleges across the state. Also, it is our priority to provide sports infrastructure to the players who are already studying in college. In the same sequence, against the provisioned budget of Rs 1.72 crore, an amount of Rs 1.71 crore is being released at the government level for creating sports infrastructure in a total of 171 government colleges, he added.

Through this, players will be able to realize the possibilities of making a career in their favourite sports along with studying in college.

It is known that colleges will be able to create new infrastructure related to sports with this amount. It includes courts, turf etc. related to various sports. He said that the Director of Higher Education, Uttar Pradesh Prayagraj will ensure compliance with the conditions set by the Finance Department while making the funds being sanctioned to the construction agency Public Works Department through RTGS.

This amount is to be used in any case till March 31, 2024. The sanctioned amount will not be kept in the bank account and its expenditure will be as per the relevant provisions of the Financial Handbook and the government orders issued from time to time. All government colleges have been directed to ensure that the work is properly tested as per the rules and special attention is paid to the quality of the work.
