Yogi Launches State-wide 'Special Communicable Disease Control and Dastak Drive’
Lucknow, April 3 (TNA) Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Saturday launched the 'Special Communicable Disease Control and Dastak Abhiyan' in Siddharthnagar district and said that under the leadership and guidance of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, inter-departmental coordination, Swachh Bharat Mission, supply of pure drinking water in the state, along with the hard work of ASHA workers, Anganwadi, Health workers, World Health Organisation, UNICEF and Path, the state has succeeded in completely eliminating the communicable disease by running a concerted campaign.
The Chief Minister added that the aspirational district of Siddharthanagar has been selected to launch the state-wide special communicable disease control and Dastak campaign because here there is a need to pay special attention to areas like health, education, employment, agriculture, environment etc. He went on to say that the efforts made in the last five years for the development of the state have yielded good results.
Yogi recalled how encephalitis had become a curse for eastern Uttar Pradesh between 1977 to 2017, wherein thousands of children died every year due to the disease. He said that the State Government has achieved unprecedented success in the last five years in the control of encephalitis through inter-departmental coordination, special campaigns.
