Afghan Foreign Minister Mohammed Hanif Atmar Dials S Jaishankar, Seeks UNSC Session On Situation In His Country
New Delhi, August 4 (TNA) Afghan Foreign Minister Mohammed Hanif Atmar late on Tuesday dialled his Indian counterpart S Jaishankar and discussed with him convening an emergency U.N. Security Council Session on the current situation in his country. He shared this information from his official Twitter handle.
The two leaders also discussed ways to put an end to the raging violence perpetrated by Taliban as also the human rights violation. “Called Indian FM HE @DrS Jaishankar to discuss convening an emergency U.N. Security Council Session on AFG,” Atmar wrote on Twitter.
“UN and the international community must play a greater role to stop the unfolding tragedy in Afghanistan due to Taliban violence & atrocities. Appreciate the lead role of India as current UNSC President,” he further said and went on to appreciate the lead role of India as the incumbent UN Security Council President.
