Rabat, Oct 5 (TNA) The FIFA Executive Committee has unanimously selected the Morocco-Spain-Portugal bid as the sole candidate to organize the 2030 Football World Cup. This decision by the Executive Committee of the International Association Football Federation commends and recognizes Morocco's key position in the concert of great nations.

Following this, the Moroccan King congratulated the Kingdom of Spain and the Republic of Portugal, while reiterating the Kingdom of Morocco's commitment to working in perfect synergy with the authorities in charge of the bid in each of the host countries.

The press release issued by the Royal Cabinet on Wednesday, by King Mohamed VI, informed the Moroccan people that the Executive Committee of the Fédération Internationale de Football (FIFA) has unanimously accepted the Morocco-Spain-Portugal bid as the sole candidate to host the 2030 FIFA World Cup.

It is worth recalling that the King had announced Morocco's joint bid with Spain and Portugal to host the 2030 World Cup on 14 March 2023 in Kigali, in a message on the occasion of the presentation of the Confederation of African Football's (CAF) Outstanding Achievement Award-2022.

In his message, the Sovereign noted that this joint bid, unprecedented in the history of football, will be the link between Africa and Europe, between the north and south of the Mediterranean, and between the African, Arab and Euro-Mediterranean worlds. The Sovereign also specified that this bid will be one of bringing together the best of both sides, and demonstrating an alliance of genius, creativity, experience and resources.
