Joe Biden Speaks To Families Of Americans Who Went Missing In Hamas Attack On Israel

Washington, October 14 (TNA) US President Joe Biden on Friday spent about 45 minutes speaking to family members of missing Americans in Israel, media reports say. Biden assured them that his administration was doing everything to ensure safe release and return of the US citizens.

Family members of the missing US citizens have been quoted as saying that the president also asked them to brace up for a “long haul.” Although the president could not give much information, reports say, they added that the president’s “willingness to listen” was “extraordinary.”

Hamas, the militant group that governs Gaza, kidnapped a number of people, including both civilians and soldiers, during its October 7 attack on Israel. It's unclear how many people are being held hostage; Israeli authorities have said as many as 150 people may have been kidnapped. The IDF said Friday that it had notified 120 families of those taken hostage.
