Raila Odinga Denies Challenging The Decision Of Revocation Of Kenya's Recognition Of “RASD"
Nairobi, Sep 17 (TNA) Raila Odinga, leader of the Azimio La Umoja Coalition and William Ruto's main rival in the last Kenyan presidential election, denied the information that he allegedly attacked the Kenyan president's decision to revoke the recognition of the pseudo "RASD".
"The reports conveyed, according to which I challenged Ruto's decision to review Kenya's policy on the ‘polisario’ are wrong," the former Kenyan Prime Minister wrote on his official twitter account. Odinga, who won 48.85% of the votes in the last presidential election, also stressed the importance of relations between Morocco and Kenya, which he described as "beneficial".
Following Moroccan King Mohammed VI's message to the new President of the Republic of Kenya, William Ruto, the Republic of Kenya has decided to revoke the recognition of the pseudo "RASD" and to begin the steps for the closure of its representation in Nairobi, it may be recalled.
A joint statement, passages of which were made public by the website of the State Palace of the Republic of Kenya (State House), indicated "by respecting the principle of territorial integrity and non-interference, Kenya gives its full support to the serious and credible autonomy plan proposed by the Kingdom of Morocco,
"Kenya supports the United Nations framework as an exclusive mechanism to reach a lasting and permanent political solution to the dispute over the Sahara issue," the joint statement had further said.
