London, December 14 (TNA) With the world's first Omicron infected person dying in Britain, scientists have warned Britishers and people world over against any laxity with regards to observing of Covid protocols. Prime Minister Boris Johnson has issued a warning that a 'stormy wave' of Omicron is coming to the country and that all efforts should be made to stop it.

In Britain, this variant is spreading in an unprecedented manner. With Omicron accounting for 40 per cent of all versions, the emphasis is on additional doses of the vaccine. Johnson is targeting a booster dose of the vaccine for people over the age of 18 by the end of December to stem Omicron's storm surge.

He said, we have seen in past bitter experiences how the graph of infection increases. The COVID alert level in the UK has been raised from three to four after Omicron reported 1,239 more cases in the last 24 hours.

The concern of many countries, including the World Health Organization, has increased regarding the new form of the corona virus, Omicron. Researchers from the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine and Stellenbosch University in South Africa have said that Omicron could cause havoc in Britain.

If strict measures are not taken to stop the infection, then by April of next year there may be 25,000 to 75,000 deaths in the country. Scientists said, this variant is spreading rapidly and can become the cause of epidemic.
